The foundation is a heavy-duty steel base that offers solid support and long-lasting durability. On top of that, a second layer of steel adds extra strength, while Clopay’s exclusive Intellicore® polyurethane insulation—2" thick—is sandwiched in between. This insulation delivers excellent thermal efficiency with an R-value of 18.4, helping keep your garage comfortable and quiet.

The exterior features a moisture-resistant composite overlay, molded from real wood pieces to mimic the look and grain of genuine wood. Unlike real wood, the composite won’t warp, crack, or rot, even in tough weather conditions.
The hot-dipped galvanized steel is finished with a durable, baked-on primer and topcoat to guard against rust and fading. For safety, every door includes pinch-resistant sections and strong safety brackets as standard features.

Garage door grandeur, who knew?
First of all our original wooden garage door of our home that was built in 1955 definitely served our family very well over the years. The house was painted white as was the garage door. Now with our new wood grain color garage door our old house has an entirely new look to it and even our neighbors are noticing and saying so.

Envy of the neighborhood
Extremely happy with my purchase as there were many options available and was a big decision. The quality of this 4 layer door is outstand and catches everyone's eye. Especially with the rain glass which pulls all of this together and is the envy of the neighborhood. Also the customer service with Clopay was impressive as they care about their customers and committed to making any issues right. if i could give 10 stars I would!

Our new Clopay garage door is stunning to view and the quality and function are first rate. It operates very quietly, as we have an attached garage, and since our garage is insulated, this door makes it unnecessary to add heat unless the temperature is below freezing here in Michigan.
