Every Canyon Ridge® Modern garage door has four layers — steel, insulation, more steel, and a tough faux-wood cladding with fiberglass-filled boards — all working together to deliver increased durability and security. The Canyon Ridge® Modern garage door is engineered for lasting performance, comfort, and peace of mind. At its core is a tough steel base, built to withstand daily use and provide a solid foundation for your door. On top of this, you’ll find low-maintenance, moisture-resistant composite overlays that capture the warmth and look of real wood, but won’t rot, warp, or crack — even with heavy exposure to the elements.
Inside, each door is filled with 2" of Clopay’s proprietary Intellicore® polyurethane insulation. This advanced foam technology fills every inch of the door, making it warmer, quieter, and stronger than standard doors. You’ll notice the difference in your garage’s comfort, energy efficiency, and noise reduction.
The steel panels are treated with a multi-layer rust-prevention system, including galvanizing, a protective metal oxide layer, and a durable baked-on finish. The bottom of the door features a replaceable vinyl weather seal set in a rust-resistant aluminum retainer to keep out drafts, rain, and debris. Safety is built in, too, with a patented Safe-T-Bracket® that helps prevent injuries during maintenance.
All Intellicore® insulated doors come with smooth-gliding, 10-ball nylon rollers and extra-strong 14-gauge steel hinges for reliable, quiet operation. Removable window grilles make cleaning easy. Detailed instructions for assembly of this handle on the Modern Series doors is covered with these instructions. The instruction manual that comes with your door shows the correct sections and height above the floor for mounting the two lift handles.

When we undertook an extensive exterior house renovation, we knew finding the right large 7'x18' garage door replacement would be a critical wow factor for our home’s ‘curb appeal.’ So we took the time to do our research and talked to almost a dozen dealers. The local company that stood out was DoorCare; their manufacturer was Clopay; and the model we loved was the Canyon Ridge Modern. Admittedly, it was by far the most expensive choice, but worth every penny in our minds. There is not a garage door like it in our neighbourhood and it has added so much more value to our home than the cost. The only downside was the long wait due to CoVid. With the entire renovation completed, it was eight months after we ordered the garage door that it finally arrived. During that time, our neighbours often wondered out loud … “Sooooo you are replacing the old garage door too, right?!?” Fortunately, when was installed, there was a little shock and awe for sure. We love it!

This is a message I sent to Clopay in 2019 and we were never contacted. We had our new garage installed in August 2018. We noticed in October 2018, tiny "bubbles" on the material of the door flaking off on some of the panels. So on October 23rd, 2018 we contacted and sent pictures to the company that installed our door - JMAC. We asked them to take a look at it and let us know of some solutions. After repeated phone calls, pictures and emails to JMAC, someone finally came out in April 2019 with a "repair kit". The kit was just a little tube of paint that we both agreed would make the bubbles even more noticeable as the paint didn't really match perfectly. This has been extremely frustrating. We just wanted the panels with the bubbles that are flaking to be replaced as it will continue to get worse over time and paid a significant amount for this door. We are feeling quite frustrated with JMAC and wondered how we can get Clopay to help us with next steps. We have the emails and pictures to support this message if need be.
