Ultra-Grain® Finish

Gallery Steel REC14

The Ultra-Grain® finish from Clopay simulates the look of wood but without the need for staining and the ongoing maintenance that real wood requires. This faux-wood paint finish provides a sophisticated look and real durability.

The Ultra-Grain finish is available in many popular Clopay door collections, including:

Ultra-Grain is a durable, natural-looking faux-woodgrain paint finish designed for steel garage doors. Depending on the door model you choose, our Ultra-Grain finish options can include:

  • Walnut
  • Cherry
  • Slate
  • Medium
  • Dark

Clopay offers Ultra-Grain finishes to complement your garage door's unique design. On Clopay Classic Steel, Gallery Steel and Bridgeport Steel doors, the finish's woodgrain pattern runs vertically along the stiles and panels and horizontally along the rails, creating an authentic, natural appearance. The woodgrain pattern runs unidirectionally on Canyon Ridge 4-Layer and Modern Steel garage doors for an architecturally accurate look.

Ultra-Grain also complements your door's exterior surface texture. Classic Steel Premium, Gallery Steel 3-Layer, and Bridgeport Steel 3-Layer doors feature a stucco texture that enhances the woodgrain pattern. Canyon Ridge 4-Layer and Modern Steel doors have a woodgrain texture that gives them a more realistic appearance.

Clopay's Ultra-Grain finish simulates the look of a stained wood door while providing lasting quality. Its durability can save you money because it doesn’t have the staining requirements and frequent maintenance associated with natural wood.

An Ultra-Grain finish offers the following benefits:
