"Satisfied with My Clopay Garage Doors"

I recently bought two Clopay Classic Steel 8x7 insulated white garage doors with windows from Home Depot, and I'm really pleased with how everything turned out! The doors are solid, and the insulation has made a noticeable difference in keeping my garage comfortable. The windows add a nice touch by letting in natural light, and the white finish looks great on my house. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase and would recommend these garage doors to anyone looking to upgrade.

"The only brand of garage door we would consider"

We had our old Clopay doors for 30 years, and loved them. Unfortunately, we had a fire in our garage, and had to replace both doors. We, of course, looked only at Clopay dealers to replace the old doors. It was so nice to see that the bronze color was a perfect match to our old terratone color. They were just install yesterday and they look fantastic!

I was in the market to replace our aging garage door this past spring. I contacted about seven local door garage companies in the greater Ottawa area for price quotations. After reviewing all the submitted quotations I was shocked at the prices that I got for a simple 16x7 door. Even thought I made sure the doors were all the same style and colour so that we would be on the same level in price comparison. At this point I did not contact Home Depot I just was too sure if it would be a good idea with no knowledge about Clopay. Anyway I went to the HD web site and build a door to the same specifications as I requested from the other supplier. I was surprise that I was able to get a better door (2” R18.5 insulated door) compared to the other suppliers at a very reasonable price. It was a no brainer comparing the built quality of the door, pricing, warranty and door options like a great selection of colours and windows. I strongly recommend adding the upgrade door hinges and roller package it’s a great value for what you get in return. I placed the order on line and then the follow up calls and emails started the process of getting my garage door delivered and installed. The ordering process was very easy and simple. The door was shipped and then it was installed in manner of weeks. The installers were very good in removing and disposing of the old door. However, during the installation the installer noticed a defect on the top panel. He immediatly texted Coplay and within a couple a minutes a new panel was approved and ordered. I was very very impressed with how fast Clopay reacted to the issue and resolved. I'm sold on Clopay products and after service.

"Directions Are Inadequate"

Love the door,,,, this is our second Clopay. 1st one purchased 16 years ago. On the 1st one,,,, the opener bracket torn,,, sheet metal tore in two pieces. Then one spring broke the following week. The problem with the new door is the installation directions. The booklet is inadequate. For example,,,, how do you set the right tension on the springs. The book says,,, it must be the same on both sides.... Also our garage has a low ceiling.... not enough room to use the standard top hinge. No instructions.

"New Look"

We have replace our old (1940) barn type doors on our garage with Clopay Classic door. Although the DIY project looked daunting, the instructions were clear and extra hardware (low headroom clearance rail) we needed, installed nicely. Great product at a great price.

"Our Clopay Classic Cherrywood door looks fantastic"

Our new Clopay Classic 2-car garage door was installed in just a few hours. The Cherry woodgrain goes wonderful with our brick. The curb appeal on our home has definitely increased. The 18.4 R-value should keep our garage cooler in the hot Kansas summers and warmer in the cold winters.

"Bottom door seal is worthless"

Even though the door arrived with some damage, I like the door itself, but the bottom seal is worthless. It’s just an oversized rubber without any compression to seal out the elements. Is there another seal that you could send me that would do a better job? I see several aftermarket seals at Home Depot and on Amazon.

"Not happy with the bottom door seal."

I do like the door, but the bottom door seal is worthless. I am not sure if the wrong seal was installed at the factory or not. The one on the door I received is just an oversized rubber that has not cushion or compression to it. I’ve seen other aftermarket seals that do a much better job of actually sealing the bottom of the door from the elements. If there is another seal, that would work better for my situation I would appreciate if you could send one to me. Also, the door panels were damaged in shipment. Good quality door, fit was perfect and they are really easy to open and close. The insulation should help keep the temps down in our humid summer heat. I do wish that some handles had been included for the bottom of the door to assist in opening and closing. Small nit, very happy with these garage doors!

"The door is pretty good quality."

We had a problem with the doorhandle. I called the company. They told me to notify Home Depot, which I did nothing but run around, so we have a broken doorhandle that nobody wants to take care of nice.

"I love the fact that you can insulate the door"

It is nice that you are able to add insulation to the door after installation. Our builder did not offer an upgrading to an insulated door when we purchased. Easy and reasonable price to do it after and it looks great.

"Very Quite and Durable Construction"

I am extremely happy with our decision to upgrade and replace our garage doors. The original doors were also Clopay but were wood. They lasted for over 27 years. When it came time to replace we went with Clopay Classic Steal and they look and function great!

I am extremely happy with our decision to upgrade and replace our garage doors. The original doors were also Clopay but were wood. They lasted for over 27 years. When it came time to replace we went with Clopay Classic Steal and they look and function great!

"Not good door"

I am not happy with my door. There are gaps between panels. Not all vertical posts have brackets but there are holes for them. The door was bought through a dealer and professionally installed. They say that this is the way the door is manufactured. Very frustrating. Please, help to resolve the issue

"Not good! Hoping for help from cloplay!"

I ordered 2 of the same doors. One for my shop & one for my garage. The 1st door came in February & was missing both of the flag brackets & all four of the vertical track brackets. Went online & sent cloplay a message. No response to date. 2nd door came in today & is missing 5 of the #1 hinges, both #2 hinges, both #3 hinges, both of the top brackets, both of the bottom brackets, both of the inside step plates & all 10 rollers! "Solid, sturdy, superior door"

I replaced an older door that had buckled when it flew off the track with a newer insulated steel door. It looks better, and with the insulation and steel on the inside should be much sturdier. With a longer warranty, I'm guessing this will last longer than we will! While I can't say if this is the "door" or the new "garage opener", its also MUCH quieter than our old one, which I'm sure will make the neighbors happy when it opens late at night.

I bought two of these Cloplay insulated doors. They were very easy to install and all parts and hardware was packaged and easy to access. Because I did by the doors directly from the retail store, I did noticed some slightly damaged panels in which I am in the process of working with Cloplay and the retailer to resolve the issue. The customer rep at Cloplay was very knowledgeable and helpful in addressing this matter.

Easy to install but does take some time if you follow the directions. Seems very strong and much sturdier than my previous steel door. However, it has only been a couple of weeks and we haven't had any storms to test it. I will give an update after the next hurricane.

I Love my new door(S). I bought three of these in the insulated style for just a few bucks over the cost of non insulated doors. Much quieter that those old non insulated metal doors I had bought in the past! One panel was damaged and the retailer let me bring back only the damaged panel instead of the whole door!

The windows we ordered with it make a big difference on the brightness inside the garage. the insulation and the inside metal skin over it gives a nice finished look. Upgraded hardware was a good addition, both for quality and longer warranty.

16x10 Clopay 1 3/8 garage door (intelicore) - This replaced a very trusty 20 year old insulated garage door. Unfortunately that manufacturer no longer had distributors in my sate. I purchased this door thinking it would be as solid as the old door. It was only until the installer showed up I saw the difference. Each panel must have weighed 15 pounds less than the door it replaces. It sounds less solid when opening too. The inside panels are as cold as the outside to the touch. The installer even commented "Wow this is a lot lighter than the old door". I did some more research and it seems Clopay uses only thin 27 gauge steel, whereas the older doors were often 25 or even 24 (lower is thicker and heavier). That makes a huge difference. The bottom seal is also a thin rubber loop that just gets smashed and does not provide as much sealing as the thicker seal on the old door. If you are going to get a new door research beyond what they simply CLAIM as the R value. (Door thickness, steel gauge, etc) I find it had to believe this door really is R 12.9 when the old door was only rated R 7 and kept things just as warm and perhaps even quieter.

I was going to buy the "good" rated door to save some money but ended up buying this door which is rated "better", and I'm so glad I did! If you're on a budget I recommend spending a little more and get this door. This door wasn't that much more money and it was worth it. It has a nice amount of insulation, making it feel more solid. It also has a metal skin on the inside instead of just the exposed insulation, which gives it a much cleaner look and will make it easier to clean in the future. It's not even cold outside yet but we can tell our garage is much better sealed and will be warmer this winter. This was the first time I have installed an overhead door so it took a while to do, but the instructions were very good.

I was going to buy the "good" rated door to save some money but ended up buying this door which is rated "better", and I'm so glad I did!
