Clopay® Garage Doors Featured on Southern Living 2025 Idea House in Charlottesville, Virginia

Clopay is sponsoring the Southern Living 2025 Idea House near Charlottesville, Virginia. The welcoming 4,500 sq. ft. countryside retreat is featured in the September issue of the magazine, and will be open to the public for tours from now through December 21st. It can also be viewed online at SouthernLiving.com.
The talented team behind the home includes developer Molly Hardie of Keswick Real Estate, builder Allan Pettit of Alexander Nicholson, architects Julie Dixon and Keith Scott of Rosney Co. Architects, interior designer Charlotte Moss, and landscape architects Eugene Ryang and Megan Taylor of Waterstreet Studio.
The builder and architect selected Reserve® Wood Extira® carriage house garage doors with a chevron pattern for the home’s two car detached garage.
Made from eco-friendly materials, Extira is a moisture, rot, and termite-resistant wood composite. It carves, routs, and fastens like natural wood, and has a perfectly smooth surface free of knots or voids, allowing for detailed craftsmanship and a fine, furniture-quality paint finish.
“Clopay's ability to customize panel and window designs is a total game changer, said Julie Dixon of Rosney Co. Architects. “The chevron panel design we selected added a tailored, architectural element that seamlessly tied to the home’s exterior materials and patterns. It's a motif that shows up in multiple locations and it's really impactful that we could also use it on the garage doors, especially given their very prominent position framing the front courtyard.”
