Clopay is expanding its residential product offerings beyond the garage door to include a new line of entry door systems designed to coordinate with many of the company’s garage door styles.

Constructed in fiberglass or steel, Clopay’s entry door systems are customizable, energy efficient, low-maintenance and secure. Numerous decorative window styles with complementary sidelites, transoms and leaded garage door windows are available. They are factory finished, either stained or painted, and pre-hung for easy installation.

“Entry doors are a logical extension for us,” says Pat Lohse, vice president of residential marketing for Clopay Building Products. “As the leading manufacturer of residential garage doors, Clopay has been in the curb appeal business for over 40 years. Now we are bringing that experience, innovation and dependable customer service to the front door. Based on the results of Remodeling magazine’s 2009 Cost vs. Value study, we are entering the market at the right time.”

Seven of the top 10 value-yielding projects ranked by realtors in the Cost vs. Value study involve the outside of the home. The project with the biggest return, a mid-range priced entry door replacement, ranks No. 1. The magazine conducts the annual survey to determine the return on investment for the most common residential remodeling projects.

Fiberglass Entry Door Line
Clopay high-definition fiberglass entry doors are available in either a smooth painted surface or a distinctive stained woodgrain texture reminiscent of handcrafted natural oak. But unlike wood, fiberglass won’t warp, peel or shrink or require the same degree of maintenance to prolong its beauty. It is also less expensive than a custom wood door.
“With fiberglass, an exclusive look doesn’t necessarily exclude your budget,” says Lohse.

Clopay fiberglass entry doors utilize polyurethane foam core insulation for added strength, dent resistance and energy efficiency. Tempered, triple-glazed insulated glass helps keep homes warmer in winter and cooler in the summer. Solid doors doors with most decorative glass qualify for the energy tax credit.  A standard 17.5” wood lockblock and jamb security plate provides protection against forced break-ins.

Other Clopay “Intelligent Design” fiberglass door line features include:
▪ Reversible double bulb four-fin sweep – limits water and air infiltration
▪ Laminated veneer lumber stiles for strength
▪ Ball bearing hinges – quiet; prevents sag and hinge wear
▪ Finished edges – improved appearance
▪ Composite sill system – rot resistant
▪ Carbon fiber sill key – prevents water from wicking in the jamb
▪ Adjustable high dam composite threshold – limits water and air infiltration
▪ Six stain and fourteen factory finish paint options, many of which complement the Clopay garage door paint and Ultra-grain colors
▪ Complementary glass caming, sill and hinge finish

Steel Entry Door Line
Practical yet pleasing, the Clopay steel entry door system features high definition embossments and a smooth painted surface for long-lasting appearance and security. The steel line is insulated with polyurethane and all solid doors and most doors with glass qualify for the energy tax credit.

Clopay entry door system prices range from $600 to over $9,000, uninstalled, depending on door glass designs, side lites, finishing and other options.
