An Easy Cure for a Noisy Garage Door

Jun 28, 2010
Wow! What a difference a little oil on my garage door hinges and opener track drive makes. The door used to shake, rattle and roll on its daily trek up and down, but after a few sprays of 3-in-1 oil, the dogs don’t even bark when I press the remote to open or close it.

The easiest task to keep your door operating smoothly takes about a minute. Use a clean rag to remove any debris, grease or dirt build-up from the track. Lubricate all moving parts of the door with 3-in-1oil. This includes lift cables at the bottom bracket button, bearing of the sheaves, full length of torsion spring, hinges, metal rollers and track. Never use heavy oil or grease. DO NOT LUBRICATE nylon rollers, plastic idler bearings or locks.

Enjoy the silence!
