Commercial Garage Doors




Service Doors (CESD) are manufactured from 2 5/8" wide metal slats roll formed to interlace together to create a continuous steel curtain. They are used to provide security against entry or weather protection at exterior or interior openings in industrial, commercial, institutional and other buildings.

CESD10 STANDARD HEAVY DUTY SERVICE DOORS

Sizes: 30' wide, 30' high standard construction. Large openings to 50' wide, 40' high, consult factory.
Operation: Motors, chain, hand-crank or push-up designs based on size, weight or frequency of operation.
Usage: Standard construction is up to 20 cycles per day with High Cycle Construction available for doors expected to be operated more than 20 cycles per day, i.e. parking garages, sally ports.
Fast Acting Doors: For high traffic openings or where air flow or temperature control is critical, doors can be designed to operate at more than twice the speed of typical doors, or up to 2 ft./sec.
Wind Load: Doors can be configured to withstand the full range of specific wind load requirements including missile impact ratings. Also refer to WindCode Section.
Seismic Performance Validation: Specific seismic calculations can be provided for all doors that are mounted Face of Wall or Between Jambs to steel or masonry. Seismic performance validation is per ASCE 7-05.
Materials & Finishes: Standard door curtains are availalbe in 24, 22, 20 and 18 gauge galvanized steel in light gray, white or tan.  Also 20 gauge 300 series stainless steel with # 4 finish or #16 B&S gauge aluminum with mill, clear or color anodized finish.
Locks: Wall mounted chain keeper or zinc plated steel slide bolt with padlock provisions
Operation: Chain hoist is standard; motor or manual operation is optional

Materials & Finishes: Exterior and interior slats are ASTM A 653 galvanized steel with exclusive finish in light gray, tan or white (available 24/24 ga only).  Powder coated finish is optional.  Exterior skin is available in 24, 22, 20 and 18 gauge with combination exterior and interior slats being - 24/24, 22/24, 20/24, 18/24 and 22/22.  Exterior and interior skins are also available in 22 gauge 300 series stainless steel with #4 finish and #18 B&S gauge aluminum with mill, clear or color anodized finish.

Fire Doors (CERD) available insulated and non-insulated, provide automatic closing in the event of fire detection with governed speed control.  Fire doors also designed for use as a service door to provide security and access control in openings that are not part of a required means of egress.

Smoke Rated Doors (CERD) add tested smoke and draft control to fire doors and counter fire doors.  Use to protect interior corridors and smoke barrier openings or any opening where life safety is a priority.

CERD11 STANDARD HEAVY DUTY FIRE & SMOKE RATED DOOR

Listings:

UL Classified for fire protection and the loss of property and also UL, "S" leakage rated assembly labeled for smoke and draft control.

SmokeShield products meet the requirements of the International Building Code, 2006, Section 715.4.3. for Smoke-and-Draft Control Door Assemblies

Tested per UL 1784, the procedure for smoke-and-draft control door assemblies. Meets the requirements of NFPA 105

Sizes: 30' wide, 25' high standard construction. Large openings to 34' wide, consult factory.

Rolling Counter doors (also called counter shutters) secure openings above counters and other similar finished openings on interior and exterior walls. These doors can also be used for smaller door openings and close to the floor when the more compact door components are required.

Operation: Standard motor, hand crank or push-up designs are available based on size and weight. Lifting the counter door requires no more than 25lbs of force. Concealed tubular motors provide a solution for strict dimensional limitations around the header or aesthetic requirements that lend themsleves to its smaller, compact design.


CESC20 Standard Counter Door with Integral Frame

Sizes: 11'7"' wide, 4' 10"' high in walls 4" to 13" thick.
Wind Load: Doors can be designed to meet specifc PSF wind Load requirements.
Seismic Performance Validation: Specific seismic calculations can be provided for all doors that are mounted Face of Wall or Between Jambs to steel or masonry. Seismic performance validation is per ASCE 7-05.
Materials & Finishes: Integral welded head and jambs are formed of 16 gauge 300 series #4 finish stainless steel shapes or 16 guage primed steel shapes. Curtain material: aluminum slats are clear or color anodized; galvanized steel in light gray; stainless steel is 300 series in #4 finish. Powder Coating optional on non-stainless components.
Mounting: Face of wall or between jambs in both interior and exterior walls.  Approved wall types for the mounting of fire doors include masonry or structural steel jambs.

FIRE RATED COUNTER DOOR



CERC10 COUNTER FIRE DOORS

Rolling Counter Fire Doors (also called fire shutters) secure openings above counters and other similar finished openings on interior and exterior walls. Doors can also be used to close conventional floor to header wall openings where the more compact components of Counter Fire Doors are desired. See counter doors for slat and guide specifications

Counter Fire Door Listings: UL 3 HR, 1 1/2 HR, 1 HR and 3/4 HR Classified labels. Counter Fire Doors are listed with the Office of the California State Fire Marshal.
Sizes: Fits openings up to 16' wide when height is 7'6" or less, or openings up to 12' wide when height is 10' or less.
Smoke Control Counter Fire Doors: Add optional UL Classified smoke and draft control to counter fire doors. Containing smoke saves lives and building property and also aids in fire containment by slowing oxygen flow to the fire source. This added protection is easy to add to your building and may be required by your local building code. More Smoke Control information here.

Counter Fire Door Mounting: Approved wall types for mounting include rated drywall, masonry, or steel walls.
Operation: motor, chain or crank operating systems are recommended for ease of testing and controlled automatic closing speed. Click on the Operator Information button at right for a full description of these systems. Push up is available for counter fire doors up to 80 sq. ft. where usage and testing is infrequent.
UL Classified 1 1/2 Hour Countertops: when used in conjunction with fire rated counter doors, countertops must also be fire rated. Clopay offers UL classified countertops in two materials:
- Plastic laminate countertops - available in a range of standard laminates in a single piece up to 10' wide, and in two pieces with center joint to 16' wide.
- 14 gauge, #4 finish stainless steel countertops are custom designed to a maximum wall opening width of 11'2" for face of wall units, 11'10" for between jambs, for a maximum 12" wall thickness.



CERC20 COUNTER FIRE DOORS

Clopay's Rolling Counter Fire Doors with Integral Frame and Countertop, also referred to as Labeled Package Units, are assembled and welded at the factory for a seamless, custom-built look. Units may be fitted to pass window openings without field assembly, becoming an important time saver.

Listings: UL 11/2 HR, 1 HR and 3/4 HR Classified labels.
Sizes: Openings up to 10' wide by 4' 9" high in walls 4 1/2" to 12" thick.
Smoke Control Gasketing available: UL listed perimeter smoke seals / UL tested vinyl astragal are available for providing protection against smoke infiltration at head, guide frames and sill.
Mounting: Approved for mounting to rated drywall or masonry wall construction. Between Jambs Slip-In units are set into finished walls. Between Jambs Built-In units wrap around finished walls; installation is done while wall is being constructed.
Operation: Manual push up operation only. Release Devices and Annunciators are available. See fire door page for details.
Material and Finishes: Curtains are available in 22 gauge galvanized steel in light gray, powder coating is an option, or #22 gauge 300 series stainless steel with #4 finish.
Countertops: Integral 300 series stainless steel with #4 finish countertops are standard. Separate UL labeled plastic laminate countertops available. Or, choose a No-Countertop option for openings with an existing countertop.



SECURITY GRILLES



CESG10 STRAIGHT PATTERN GRILLE

Open curtain, which allows air circulation, is formed with a series of horizontal rods 5/16"in diameter. Vertical O.C. separation between rods is 2". Rods are available in aluminum -mill, clear or color anodized finish of alloy T5056 H32, solid stainless steel -polished 300 series, or solid galvanized steel. Vertical chains are formed of eyeletted aluminum or stainless steel on 9", 6", or 3" centers. End chains are held in place by double E-rings on horizontal rods on both sides of chain to retain curtain ends in guides.

Sizes: Openings up to 40' wide x 20' high standard, consult factory for larger sizes.
Rolling Grille Benefits: -Security: Grilles prevent unauthorized access and discourage forced entry at building exterior openings, storefronts or areas within buildings, such as pharmacies or parts counters. Used behind plate glass storefronts, they are a deterrent to smash-and-grab crime.

A wall mounted pull handle disengages the motor drive, which allows the grille to automatically open part way for egress. Releasing the pull handle resets the grille to normal operation.



CESG11 GLAZED PANEL GRILLE MODEL

An option available for increased protection from theft of small articles through the curtain, the Clopay Glazed panel grille is constructed of clear 12" x 3", 1/8" thick Lexan¨ (or equal) panels. The flame retardant poly carbonate panels are secured by bronze color molded nylon links attached to 5/16" diameter solid aluminum horizontal rods of alloy 5056 H32, creating a barrier against refuse, odors and smoke.

CESG30 Side Folding (Accordion) Grille Standard Pattern

 

 

Design: Open curtain, allowing free air circulation, formed by a series of vertical 5/16' diameter aluminum tubes on 2" centers. Horizontal chains are formed of eyletted aluminum links on 12', 9", 6" or 3" centers.  A series of 6" high continuous interlocking extruded aluminum hinge panels form the top and bottom of the curtain.
Track Overhead track is an extruded heavy-duty aluminum section 1 1/2" wide, 1 7/8" High. Track required for curved openings has a standard 10" radius: 90º, 120º, 135º and 150º.  .
Materials & Finishes Aluminum rods, tube spacers and link chains may be mill finish, clear or color anodized.  Track, end members, intermediate members and hinged panels may be clear of color anodized.
Operation: Manual push/pull operation.

CESG31 Side Folding Lexan or Solid Grille

Design: Curtain with glazed or solid aluminum panels create a security barrier and blocks refuse, odors and smoke.  Continuous vertical interlocking aluminum pivoting sections are set on 5 1/2" centers. Interlocking sections are fitted with either glazing panels in clear, flame retardant 1/8" thick polycarbonate material, G.E. Lexan or equal; or solid aluminum panels to deny visual access.  Panels run full height between 5 1/2" high extruded aluminum closure panels at top and bottom.
Track Overhead track is an extruded heavy-duty aluminum section 1 1/2" wide, 1 7/8" High. Track required for curved openings has a standard 10" radius: 90º, 120º, 135º and 150º.  .
