Installation Instructions for Wood Garage Doors
Yes. Windows on Reserve Wood garage doors are typically larger than the windows on steel doors because the sections are wider. Most of our Reserve Wood top sections are 28” wide.
Cedar and Redwood are both common and excellent choices for damp climates. There are other species that also perform well, but these two species are widely recognized as the best choices.

When the doors were initially installed in February I loved the doors. They came from the factory beautifully painted and were well constructed. After 6 months the wood doors are starting to deteriorate. Even the slightest dampness is causing the paint to discolor and in a small area delaminate. I requested touch up paint and twice I was sent paint that does not match and the company can not tell me the paint manufacturer or number or tint so I can order it. The doors are white

Our garage door is absolutely beautiful. Neighbors stop and compliment it all the time and people have left anonymous notes saying how much they love it...that's how good it looks. One thing to note is that we got the unstained hemlock version so that we could custom stain, and that turned out to be a bit tricky. Our first few attempts did not look good and we had to sand it out and start over...that was our fault for not using the appropriate oil-based stain and trying to use a water-based stain. Save yourself the frustration and use oil-based!! It is beyond gorgeous and also almost totally silent opening and shutting. It completely transformed how our house looks.
