Clopay Corporation, Meyer Shank Racing and McKee Champion People as Their Greatest Assets in New Campaign

MSR

This August, Clopay Corporation is launching “What Drives Champions,” a campaign celebrating the relationships Clopay Corporation shares with its valued partners and dealers.

Through a series of human interest videos centered on Clopay Corporation’s Indy Car sponsorship of Meyer Shank Racing (MSR), the campaign takes viewers behind the companies’ doors to reveal the people, passion, and innovation that ultimately set the pace for mutual success in the growing partnership.

Clopay has been an MSR sponsor since 2021, when Matt Girard, president of McKee, an Ohio-based Master Authorized Dealer of Clopay Commercial Garage Doors, connected with the leadership of both organizations.

“It started with McKee having a local relationship with MSR,” Girard said. “I was able to make the introduction and it’s been rewarding to see everyone come together.”

It was only natural that when MSR team co-owner Mike Shank was building a new facility in Pataskala, Ohio, he would lean into this winning partnership to bring his vision to life with the installation of Clopay 3724 exterior sectional doors and Cornell ESD10 interior coiling doors.

Success Centered on People

It’s the first time the industry-leading garage door company has undertaken a campaign of this magnitude.

“This campaign is so exciting because it celebrates our greatest asset—our people.” Said Clopay Corporation Director of Commercial Marketing Communications Adrienne Reitz. “Every day at Clopay Corporation, people are trying to make things better by improving our varied residential and commercial product lines, finding solutions to difficult architectural problems, or really going above and beyond to deliver the kinds of experiences that leave a customer feeling valued. To be able to highlight this dedication through the lens of a fantastic installation with one of our key dealer partners is both humbling and inspiring.”

“The people behind the scenes are everything,” said Don Tucker, Clopay Corporation Director of Dealer Sales. “The sales teams are on front lines of the relationship, but in the end, it’s the people in manufacturing, logistics, customer service, and procurement—our entire team—who are all a part of that gear that keeps the wheels of success turning.”

A Performance Partnership

“Meyer Shank Racing wanted a product that performed like their race cars—technical and precise,” said, Mckee Executive Vice President Brian Girard. “Once we got through the design and installation processes, MSR was extremely happy with how the doors performed. Not only the design, but the engineering that Clopay brings to the table—it makes a perfect partnership for Clopay Corporation and McKee.”

Team Co-Owner Mike Shank summed it up best: “I had a very specific vision,” he said. “The doors have been perfect. We’re proud of them and they look great. That’s what I wanted when I started this project. The basis of McKee, Clopay, and MSR are the people. Similar like-mindedness on how to treat people, how to work, how to collaborate. Literally, it started as friends and now we’re nothing but proud to be part of the Clopay Corporation family.”
