Garage door manufacturer Clopay Building Products announced today that it has signed an exclusive, three-year agreement with Fortune 500 ranked homebuilder Pulte Homes, Inc. (NYSE:PHM). With operations in 53 markets and 27 states, Pulte Homes is focused on expanding its share within its existing markets. The company has developed a unique customer segmentation methodology and is continually developing products to serve those buyer groups. “Buyers want the best of both worlds: a new home with all the modern amenities built to replicate the look and feel of a classic American housing style. They refuse to sacrifice character for convenience, so products that deliver low-maintenance, authentic style are a must,” says Steve Lynch, Clopay’s vice president of marketing. “We are always looking for ways to help homebuilders differentiate the look of properties they build in a community, yet maintain a neighborhood feel,” continues Lynch. “Many homeowners like the high-end look of wood carriage-house style doors, but they still want the benefits of a low-maintenance, insulated steel door. Clopay’s expanding line of steel carriage house doors provides beautiful options to accentuate the quality and curb appeal of homes at an affordable price point.” “With the depth of their product lines and history of innovation in the industry, we knew Clopay was a manufacturer we could approach to help us realize our vision for the future look of Pulte Homes,” says Sean Degen, national vice president of product development for Pulte Homes. “The company’s production capacity and nationwide dealer network ensure that Pulte Homes can keep its promise to deliver a quality home on time.”
“This agreement with Pulte is evidence that a shift has occurred,” adds Lynch. “Builders are recognizing the impact garage door design and construction has on a home’s appearance, safety, energy efficiency and value. To compete in this housing market, those product qualities have to be standard, not an upgrade. Pulte Homes knows that. Clopay knows that. And we’re working together to deliver the best total housing value to consumers throughout the country.” About Clopay Building Products Clopay Building Products is a wholly owned subsidiary of Clopay Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of parent company Griffon Corporation (NYSE: GFF).
