Clopay Building Products is pleased to announce that two members of the United States Armed Forces recently received new Clopay garage doors installed on their homes thanks to the International Door Association member sponsored program “Opening Doors for Troops” and the cooperation of its independent installing dealers.
Frank Forner, owner of FJF Door Sales in the Detroit area, nominated Air National Guard Staff Sergeant Raymond M. Carroll of Chesterfield, Michigan for his dedicated service during the early stages of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. Carroll’s wife Penelope also serves as a 1st Lieutenant in the Michigan Air National Guard, enrolling while her husband was overseas. Her duty is the Public Affairs Officer for the 127th Wing at Selfridge ANGB.
The Carroll’s badly dented and rusted existing 16’ x 7’ garage door was replaced with a Clopay Coachman® Collection three-layer 2” insulated door Model CD22 with rectangular windows. A Liftmaster #3585-7' opener was also installed.
“The Carroll’s are elated with the new door and opener,” says Forner. “This is the first time ever that they have had an electric door opener in their garage. The tracks on their previous door were actually tied up to prevent them from falling down, a real safety hazard for anyone, but especially for a family with three young children.”
Lt. Colonel Todd Evans of Chico, California is the second Clopay door recipient nominated in recognition of his 52-month tour in Afghanistan and Iraq as a member of the U.S. Army Rangers Special Forces. Mark Stuenkel, president of Door System Design, Inc., DBA the Door Company, installed two 9’ x 7’ Coachman Collection doors on the Evans’ home.
