Since 1996, Clopay has earned the distinction of being the only residential garage door manufacturer to hold the Good Housekeeping Seal. The seal represents Good Housekeeping’s limited warranty that carries the full weight of Good Housekeeping Magazine. The limited warranty is the magazine’s pledge to consumers, published in its entirety in each issue of Good Housekeeping, that if any product that carries the seal is found defective within two years from the date of purchase, Good Housekeeping will either replace it or refund the purchase price. No other publications make this promise to its readers.

How do companies qualify for the Good Housekeeping Seal? For almost a century, the Good Housekeeping Seal has been providing consumers confidence in the marketplace. The Seal stands as the most recognized consumer product insignia in the U.S., and the only way to apply for it is through the Good Housekeeping Institute. The Institute has pioneered the process of consumer education and product evaluation in the marketplace since 1900 through dedicated engineering, chemistry, home care, food appliances, nutrition, beauty and textiles departments and teams of professionals whose expertise covers a full range of consumer goods and services. Before any product can be advertised in Good Housekeeping Magazine, it must be accepted by the Institute and thus be eligible for the Good Housekeeping Seal.
